Immerse yourself in the elegant world of ikebana with the Ikebana Experience Club. This club invites you to explore the serene art of Japanese flower arranging, where each arrangement tells a story of balance, harmony, and beauty. Ikebana is much more than placing flowers in a vase. It is also a way to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves through nature’s beauty. Each session is an invitation to mindfulness, creativity, and inner calm. We are delighted to share this unique cultural and wellness experience with you!
This hands-on 90-minute workshop is led by Rikako, a licensed Ikebana teacher from Ikenobo, Japan's oldest school of floral art, and Silvia, an ASIJ parent. You will learn the principles of ikebana, from traditional techniques to contemporary styles. Discover the art’s rich history, its ties to Samurai, and its profound cultural significance, while crafting stunning arrangements that reflect your own style. Connect with fellow ASIJ parents, experience the tranquility of this timeless craft, and let your creativity blossom with every session.
Events will take place in Shibaura, with a fee of ¥5,500. This charge includes the flowers, which will be ordered 3 days in advance. Therefore, last-minute cancellations (less than 72 hours before the class) and no-shows will be asked to cover their lesson fee.
Scissors and Kenzan (flower frogs) will be provided—just bring a large bag to take your ikebana arrangement home.
