Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to support the incredible talents of our own ASIJ teachers and students! The Jeff Torchon Quartet will be performing, sharing exciting new approaches to jazz standards and some Cuban classics. The quartet features Jeff Torchon on piano (ASIJ MS/HS music teacher), Lila Kikuchi on vocals (ASIJ former student), Mark Tourian on upright bass (ASIJ music sub and a sought-after bassist in Tokyo), and Dennis Frehse on drums (popular drummer on the Tokyo music scene). Music charge: ¥4,400 for adults / ¥2,200 for student + 1 drink per person. Doors open at 6 PM. While the first set starts at 7 PM, we plan to meet by 6:30 PM. Deadline for cancellation is January 7th.
With a jazz tradition spanning over half a century, Japan boasts a unique history, as Americans introduced this musical genre post-Second World War. Our club convenes monthly at various Jazz spots in Tokyo, offering members the chance to meet before or after the concerts for a delightful glass of wine, cocktails, or other beverages.
