Looking to learn more about sustainability from the comfort of your couch or phone? How about watching a movie, documentary or short film with your family? I have several recommendations to offer: here’s the first one!
Conservation International presents “Nature is Speaking”
A series of short 2 min videos, narrated by over 50 public figures and celebrities. They are a must-watch, and very powerful videos for both adults and children. They reinforce the message that Nature doesn’t need people. People need nature. Start with this one: Julia Roberts is Mother Nature (2 min). Other videos include Forest, Home, Mountain, Sky, Ice, and The Ocean.
You may be surprised to know that ⅓ of the food produced in the world is discarded without being eaten! Is your avocado toast harming the planet? Here’s my second sustainable movie suggestion for you to enjoy over the break:
This two-season docuseries travels deep into the heart of the food supply chain to reveal unsavory truths and expose hidden forces that shape what we eat. Make better food choices by learning about fraud in the global supply chain, how and where your food comes from, and how food is processed. All presented by producers, consumers, and industry experts.
