ASIJ Fine Arts Support

In addition to organizing the Faculty Luncheon and Talent Spotlight, the Friends of the Fine Arts (FOFA) supports ASIJ students as they engage in learning a broad spectrum of fine arts disciplines throughout the school year, either as a part of a class requirement or as extracurricular activities. Additionally, at the request of ASIJ faculty event directors and coaches, FOFA may also support interscholastic fine arts events hosted by ASIJ. In 2023-24 school year, FOFA supported Musicals and Theater Plays, Strings, Band & Choir concerts, Speech and Debate tournaments, Vex Robotics tournaments by:

• Serving pre-concert meals to students and faculty members

• Helping backstage during performances

• Organizing pre- and post-concert concession stands

• Organizing a hospitality room for faculty members from ASIJ and visiting schools at interscholastic events

• Supporting the creation of art displays in the school

• Sewing costumes for theater plays and making leis for graduating seniors

Plans for 2024-25 are currently under development.

We encourage interested parents to serve as a liaison for a performing arts class or an extracurricular activity. Invitations are open for all interested family members to serve as a spot volunteer at any one or more of these events.
